The Ultimate Summer Challenge

While our Learning Commons may be winding down for the school year, you can still keep your adventures in reading alive with the Calgary Public Library's Ultimate Summer Challenge!

Classroom Kickoff Events

Teachers can register for a FREE 30-minute online session where students can learn how to participate in the challenge, win prizes, check out summer library programs, and discover some great reads. Timeslots are available in June for Grades K-2 and 3-6.

Canada Votes!

On April 28, Canadians will head to the polls to vote in the federal election and determine who will become the next leader of the nation. While you do need to be 18 or older to vote, students can learn more about how they can get involved in this exciting process and get ready to be the voters of the future!

Who's Who?

A great place to start is by getting to know the major party leaders. Check out CBC Kids News to learn who the candidates are in this federal election.

Too Young to Vote?

You can volunteer to go door to door and help put up signs. Teens 16 and up can apply to work for Elections Canada preparing polling stations, greeting electors and even counting ballots.
